and yet

you never look for me and yet my eyes find yours my words do not reach you and yet your eyes find mine all this may never be and yet this verse implores...  you vanish like the dew and yet, at night, you shine

the night we danced

It was a night like this: soft rain over the street; cold wind presaged a kiss from lips and eyes so sweet with light so full of bliss. She was so delicate, -and yet so spirited!- She was quite elegant, and with grand grace gifted. Though the kiss never came and the night ended quick, right here remains the flame. misère éternelle

Selene and Venus

Once the afternoon had vanished and with the fiery sun hidden, I found myself homebound at night with my heart and eyes wide open. With my mind and heart so engaged suddenly, a soul downtrodden came into view and held my sight with hope and warmth cruelly stolen. Stopping to help, so much we talked that shine fled by darkness driven. And on the sky above, how bright Moon and Love with beams unbroken!

2025, New Year's Day

to many more miles perhaps a few smiles to long days and nights and wonderful sights to spending my days in winter's embrace
